Volunteering: the Spirit of Sharing
It’s not all fun and games at the Susi Q. Volunteers — most of them seniors helping seniors — work hard to help us operate more effectively and efficiently. Here are some of the ways they donate their time and talents:
Ambassadors - Trained Ambassadors staff our front desk. They answer the phones, provide information, and are the first persons you see when you enter the Susi Q.
Outreach Volunteers - For frail seniors, treating isolation can be as important as treating one’s health. Friendly visitors and phone pals help them stay connected. Please note: Volunteers who work directly with frail seniors receive special training and are subject to background checks.
Day-of-Event Volunteers help our staff and event committees at our Legacy Ball, Holiday Lunch, and various events in our Great Room.
Library Volunteers - The library/lounge is the quiet center of the Susi Q, and volunteers tend to our lending library, magazines, and newspapers.
Board Committee Members - The Board is always looking for committee volunteers with special skills in finance, fundraising, events, marketing, program development, communications and computer technology.
