Activities & Clubs
While our activities and clubs focus on the needs and interests of those over 50, we welcome everyone. Most activities are free, but some clubs charge fees. We encourage members to form and manage clubs that reflect their interests. (Want to start a Club? Start here.)
SATURDAY MORNINGS | 10:00 AM
Experts agree: walking is the simplest way to protect and promote fitness. And walking with good company makes it fun. Program Manager Mariann Tracy (far left) has been working to help local students with the A.Y.S.H. (Allied Youth For Senior Health) Exercise Program. They want you to walk with them. "We welcome seniors of all ages and abilities," they promise. Wheelchairs and walkers? "We will provide assistance no matter the situation!" They usually meet up at the Susi Q. But they ask that you phone 949/436-0844 or email ayshgroup1@gmail.com to confirm that you are coming and make sure they are walking on the given day.
In the Spotlight: Annual Membership Meeting, Thursday, February 23.
As a membership organization, directors must be elected by our members at an annual meeting. Members have the right to make nominations to the Board. Nominees must be members of Laguna Beach Seniors who have agreed in writing to the requirements for directors. (A copy of our board commitment is at the Susi Q.) We encourage those interested in board service to first get involved in one of our committees, to better understand the agency and the needs of its members. Under our system of staggered three-year terms, the Board will be nominating Jim McBride, Pam Horowitz, and Linda Butterwick for approval by the membership, as well as two brand new members: Leslie Daff and Debbie Meeker.
